Spezial Editionz presents Mexicolors, a new series of giclée prints by standout Mexican street artists! For our first issue, we will have Trasher a street artist that we adore, whose work draws from pop art, comics, lowbrow, skate culture and neotraditional tattoos. His work for Spezial Editionz is inspired by the figure of the jaguar warrior, a member of the Aztec army in pre-Hispanic Mexican culture. The jaguar is a nocturnal animal, it was related to the underworld and the nocturnal sun. They were also considered a symbol of power, life and fertility.
Trasher graduated from the National School of Plastic Arts (UNAM, Mexico) in Visual Arts. He began his technical and aesthetic development by painting graffiti and experimenting with various techniques and trends in contemporary art. Thematically, he focuses on pre-Hispanic Mexican culture, esotericism, magic and urban legends and the aesthetics of death.
Trasher has presented his work in public and private spaces in Mexico and abroad, such as The Living Gallery (New York), Toy Art Gallery (Los Angeles, CA), Montana Gallery (Tokyo), Mexican Embassy in Japan (Tokyo), Sakura Gallery (Paris, France), Besart The River Museum (Barcelona, Spain) and has developed projects for brands such as Mini Cooper, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Disney and Riot Games, among others.
Our Trasher prints are available since November 8, at 6 P.M. Barcelona time (CEST). Don't miss them!
