Artist: Camil Escruela

Born in 1990, the Barcelona artist Camil Escruela (a.k.a. Kamil Escruela) is known in the world of urban art for capturing scenes around the performances of graffiti artists, everyday contemporary still lives and social issues, playing with his characters.

Camil has no formal education and it was in 2004 when he began participating in the world of graffiti as a result of his contact with street art in the city. Initially interested in the classic form, soon gave it up and moved to logo graffiti. Hence the artist's interest in continuing with the aesthetics of the characters derived from comic and illustration.

Camil has been particularly interested in and influenced by great artists such as Javier Mariscal, Pablo Picasso, and the illustrator Pilarín Bayés. Some of his exhibitions are “Milenial” (2016) and “Team” (2019) at Contorno Urbano foundation, "Fresco Fresco collective" at Adda Gallery in Ibiza (2022), "The spray game" at Montana Gallery (2022-2023) and also Artquemy Gallery in Barcelona (2024). He also has taken part in group exhibitions such as “Wallspot Exhibition” (2018) at Montana Gallery, “Trajectòria” (2017) at Contrast Gallery and the collective “B-Local” (2021) at Nau Bostik, "La Millor Barcelona" with Javier Mariscal and Carme Solé Vermell (2024), and Montana Shop in Porto (2024). He has released collaborative art toys with graffiti and street art legends Pez, Cornbread and Cope 2. In 2025, he has hold the exhibition "Playing with Masters" in Adrià Codina Art Gallery, painted in two of the largest open air street art museums, Besart, with Javier Mariscal, and Street Art City in Lervy (France). He also has his own podcast in Montana Shop Youtube channel "La Hora de Kmil", dedicated to the world of graffiti.
